"Just spotted Deathmaker tailing Gold Legend." "A race at this time? More importantly, who's tailing the Gold Legend? Is that.?" As expected he's not prepared for these races yet." "Could it be.!? Is that why he's tailing me?" However, I can't shake off the feeling that I've seen him before.somewhere." If that's the case, I'll make sure to smoke him in the next section." He's matched my pace so far, but I think he's holding back." "He accepted my challenge! Show me what you've got!" Let's test him and see what he's capable of. He isn't making any indications yet however he's still tailing me at 160 km/h." "Who's this? Seems like he's coming in quite fast." To push Sakura Bunny that far is quite a feat, but I still want to see for myself. 'Silver Phoenix' is what he calls himself. Sakura Bunny apparently had a minor crash in a battle with some Comet knockoff. Another episode in the treacherous history of the NeonQ highway." Now many racers here use nitrous in battles! However, it's sad to see him leave so soon. Silver Comet proved all of us wrong and made quite a name for himself here. The highway's been relatively empty since then. "It's been about 3 weeks since Silver Comet's crash. Gold Legend is feeling nice and fresh, so I think I can put in some good times in tonight!" Maybe it's best I do a practice run first since it's been some time." I'm sure that can be fixed up with some TLC." "H-He's suddenly speeding up?! Does he have nitro, too?" Gotta overtake him, and quick! Oh, nitro is ready! And.GO!" If you didn't, this race would be a bit boring. "I must applaud you for keeping up with me this much. "He's good! This new Accord drives smooth! I can tell! However, I'm not gonna give up just yet." Sakura Bunny can only keep up with me when I'm at 5500 RPM. But after this, there's a small window of opportunity for me to overtake him." Just gotta hold out until I have to go full send." "110 kilometres, 120 kilometres, 130 kilometres, 140, 150, 160, picking up serious speed here." "That definitely looks like the Silver Comet, but didn't it get totaled? Is this car sort of its successor? It appears to be. Let's see if you have truly inherited the spirit of your legendary predecessor. I was hoping to see the Green Lightning, but this will do, I guess." This one's a straight line, so that must mean.no.it can't be!" "Wait, what are those lights in the distance? There's only two cars with a single long lightbar for a headlight. Green Lightning beat me last night, so I hope he doesn't show up tonight, because I need to rest and get ready for our next showdown. I think it's because everyone realized that there really is a risk of totaling your car when racing. Racing on NeonQ hasn't really been the same. "It's been a few weeks after that crash that killed the Silver Comet. But by the looks of it, the Silver Comet may not race anymore." "Retro Warrior is here? Does he want to join the fight, or watch us?" "The Retro Warrior joined the fight?! Oh ho, this has gotten even more interesting." Maybe I can join along and watch it happen. "However, now my nitrous is ready to fire. Pulling off a move like that to take the lead. "Success! Now I just gotta hold the lead until the end. "W-What?! He drifted the inside! That's a risky move!" "It's the long turn! Now this is my chance to overtake him! AN OPENING! THERE!" Gotta hold out until the nitrous is ready." "The Twilight Ray? Oh, this will be fun." This time, I will win this challenge and overtake him on the NeonQ leaderboard!" "Hey! That's the Silver Comet! It's time. Guess I'll have to cruise along and see." The only non-portable parts of my code are joystick/FFeedback and the startup option selector (derived from the win32 OgrePlatform dll)."Hmm, I wonder if there are any challengers hanging out tonight. Required profile includes of course proficiency in Ogre compiling in the target platform and ability to submit minor portability patches to my code (mostly file path stuff). I mean more time fiddling with the dev environment)īut if anyone wants to be a TPO (Trusted Porting Officer) for Rigs of Rods toward Linux or MacOS it would be okay for me. (and it is my understanding that Ogre is running less easily out of the Win32 platform. Lack of time anyway : I could arrange to have more dev platforms, but I prefer to go for the features before the portability. Thanks for your support, I like having fans.įor the hard question: I would love to have a Linux and even more a MacOS version (I have a lot of Mac friends, I would like to see how it runs on PowerPCs). So, enough with the grovelling, I have a question for you, mano a mano.Īre there *any* plans for a Linux version?
